You are as hot as I am
during the day, but at night
you are cold, below minus degrees
because you do not ignite
light like me, but still…

My dear Mona,
the enthusiastic lovers
of the earth swear an oath
of love before you
as if you were a goddess.

My dear Indu,
they fall in love with each other
in your moonlight and compare
their lover to you.

My dear Luna,
men are as excited as a groom
in the presence of a lover
in your light.

My dear Chandra,
When the children are not asleep,
their mother sings your lullaby
and puts them to sleep.
