Motherhood #poetry #haiku

The lessons of motherhood
were never learned
before becoming a mother.
After becoming a mother,
I suddenly realised
the pattern of motherhood.

I understood
when she was crying
with hunger
and when she was crying
with stomach ache.

As a child she realized
that the person
who feeds her is hers
and every time she cries
the same person comes
and feeds her
giving love and affection.

Now, as she grows older,
she learns to control her emotions.
She hides her tensions.
Now, it’s my turn.
I have to change the relation.
I have to be her friend,
so that her life would be open to me
as a book and so I think,
“I have untapped abilities, waiting to be discovered.”

Musky scented white
spring’s lily of the valley
blessed motherhood

Mom ~senryu

Took away the pain
and awakened our senses
uplifted our lives

Your bitter sweet dose
fever went with magic wand
a sigh of relief

Wake up late at night
took care of us day and night
an angel of life

Lost you on the way
you disappeared from our sight
rest in peace dear Mom

Mother Teresa #An Etheree

of mercy,
God of the orphans,
ocean of compassion,
selflessly lived for others,
sheltered those lying on the road,
dedicated her life to the poor,
she is our mother, Mother Teresa
