Back To School …#Poetry

God give me childhood,
don’t change my mood,
to go back to school,
to climb the stairs of the school.

To share an umbrella,
to wet my friend Ruella….

Clouds come and bring rain
Purify my heart
Let the ray of hope awaken awareness

Allow the soil to grow new sprouts
Don’t let the wind crush them
Clouds come and bring rain

Renew our minds
Cleanse the world with your holy water
Let colorful flowers bloom in every part.

Let the fragrance of flowers permeate everywhere
Let the internal wick continue to burn
May everyone have such a good life and happiness

‘The Life of Plants in a Changing Environment’ – by Rishikesh Upadhyay #book #review 5/5

Publishing date : December 6, 2021
Language : English
No. of pages : 270

About author: Rishikesh Upadhyay, also known as R K Upadhyay, was born and grew up in a small Nepalis’ hamlet, Bhanjung Basti, via Mahadev Tilla at Haflong in the district headquarters of NC Hills (now Dima Hasao). His research and teaching works have focused largely on the environmental physiology, stress biology and biochemistry of plants.

Summary of the book:

Theme: This book focuses on the effects of environmental changes and global warming on plants.

The environment is changing rapidly and this is having a detrimental effect on plants. The surrounding environment is becoming unbalanced and in that we humans are also creating a threat to plants.

We studied in schools that plants require minerals, nutrients, carbon, water and light for reproduction, development and growth.

They do not acquire an immune system and are not able to move like animals. They gain tolerance of these unfavorable conditions through the accumulation of bioactive metabolites. Plants adapt to their changing environment and stressful conditions with the help of secondary metabolites (SM),

In this book author have mentioned the importance of secondary metabolites to various industries:
For example:-
1. Simmondsia Chinensis: (Jojoba) commonly called goat nut, pignut, wild hazel, coffeeberry etc.
Secondary metabolites : Liquid wax and Jojoba wax
Use: wound healing, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory activity

‘ Jojoba ‘

2. Catharanthus roseus G: Madagascar periwinkle commonly known as Cape periwinkle/Pink periwinkle/graveyard plant etc
Secondary metabolites: Vinblastine
Use: Diabetes

Prolonged effect of stress due to the scarcity of water decreases leaf size, stomatal openings and water potential;delays fruiting and flowering, reduces the size of fruits etc.
For example:-

‘Effect of scarcity of water ‘

Further authors have explained how the effect of light, temperature, heavy metals, drought, salinity etc develops some compounds in plant species which are acidic, phenolic, alkaloid etc.

This book presents an exhaustive overview of the specific effects and modifications that could offer in this regard, and will serve to consolidate the ideas to promote standardization of plant adaptation to these changes in the environment. It details an essential aspect of plant life. The text of this book is in current context which sheds light on the issues and concerns related to plant stress in the natural environment.

I honestly think that this book gives us a comprehensive overview of the changes that are taking place in the environment, the specific and different types of problems and the response of plants to them. It is excellent for higher studies and research studies. Each chapter is written by different authors and their contribution is commendable.

⭐ I was contacted by the author’s team to review this book and I accepted the offer as this book is on my favourite topic “Environmental Science.” For this I was sent an ebook pdf copy.

N.B: There are no pictures in this book only tables are available. I have used pictures of plant species and common names so that the reader will understand that their familiar plant species (garden plants) is part of the study.

Bloom bloom,

In my heart, your love blossoms.
Heart pounding,
the fire of love burns.

Ignited ignited
The lamp of love is ignited.
The fire in my heart is yours.
The mind rejoiced greatly
and the hope of love was awakened.

Woke up woke up
My mind woke up.
Your love awakened in my heart.
My angel, joy woke up
and the hope of life was fulfilled.

O’ Woman…#poetry

You are beautiful,
gentle and delicate.
Like a beautiful vine blooming
in the courtyard.

You win the hearts of others
with a loving smile.
O’ Woman, you are the one who takes care of everyone’s mind.

When you get married
in another house,
you carry a string of rainbow dreams
and accompany your partner on the path of life

You maintain your balance
during the ascent.
O’ Woman you are fully cultured.

You strike a balance between
office and home.
You become a doctor and give medicine.
You become a nurse and bandage.

You become a teacher and teach manners.
O’ Woman you make your house, home sweet home.

You take care
of the children and parents.
Respect the adult.

You do everything for everyone.
O’ Woman, you are not a human being, you are an angel.

I Love You #poetry

I see you every morning
in the form of the golden rays
of the sun
and bathing you with the golden rays,
I lightly carry your kiss.

I meet you every afternoon
in the scorching sun
in the blue sky
in the form of white clouds
and make you feel at peace
even when the weather is hot.

I meet you every evening
at sunset in the form of wind.
Filling you in my arms,
I love you with all my heart.

So how can you say that it is impossible for us to meet?
How can I be complete without you when I love you??

Prison! #Poem

Once passing by the prison
Thought came to my mind

Why such a big gate to this building?
and why is this compound wall so high?

I asked the reason
No one told me as, I was child!

I arrived here
Inside this big gate

Why there is no connection with the outside world?
and why outside world takes us as criminals?

I understood everything here
But now it’s too late!

To make easy money
We kidnapped our friend

Why, I didn’t listen to my parents?
and why parents didn’t keep an eye on my friends?

Or else I would’ve not done kidnapping and robbery
In a company of bad friends!

Understood this is a dark life
So, completed further education

Why people don’t accept criminals, when they try to live good life?
and why criminals don’t get a chance to become a good person?

So, to start a good life
I want to wipe the stain!
